BUYER GUIDE / 09
Pajama quality control checklist: what to approve before bulk production.
Before bulk production, align the approved sample, size chart, construction notes, fabric and colour direction, trims, labels, packaging and buyer requirements into one controlled production reference. A final check is useful, but it cannot replace clear inputs before cutting and practical reviews while sewing.
1. Seal the production reference before cutting
Confirm the approved sample version, style components, fabric direction, colour or print, size chart and tolerances, branding, packing and destination-market requirements. A reference photo explains a look; written measurements and construction notes make the production version easier to assess.
Use the Tech Pack checklist →2. Check fabric and trims against the approved direction
Identify the approved composition, construction, weight or reference quality, colour and finish. Record buttons, elastic, lace, piping, drawcords and other trim material, colour and placement. If a substitution is proposed, review it before it is used in production.
Review fabrics and trims →3. Review early production pieces
Compare early pieces with the sealed sample and written specification before a line runs at scale. For pajamas, review balance, collar or neckline, placket, pockets, cuffs, hems, piping, visible stitch quality, elastic construction, print placement and the agreed measurement points.
See the factory quality-control process →4. Keep size decisions measurable
Record the exact point of measure, size and direction of change rather than only a general fit comment. Keep the final approved measurement chart connected to the sample comments and production specification.
Use the sample comment sheet →Review sample approval →5. Confirm labels and packing before bulk packing
Confirm the latest care-label, main-label, size-label, hangtag, barcode, folding, bag, carton and carton-mark instructions. Destination-market and buyer requirements should be supplied by the brand, retailer, importer or adviser; this guide does not replace legal or compliance review.
Use the labels and packaging checklist →6. Agree final inspection and issue escalation
Before inspection, agree who will inspect, which approved reference is used, how findings are documented and how unresolved issues are handled. Acceptance levels and testing needs vary by product, market, buyer and contract; this guide does not prescribe an AQL level or promise an outcome.
